The Opportunity & Scope
As the Country Director, India at Coinbase (India / Remote), you will own Coinbase's overall market strategy, business growth, regulatory engagement, and operational scaling across India. Serving as senior leadership for Coinbase's Indian presence, you will align cross-functional product, policy, marketing, and business development initiatives to accelerate user adoption, liquidity, and product-market fit under local regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute end-to-end country growth strategies, business development pipelines, and localized commercial partnerships in India.
- Engage proactively with Indian financial regulators, policy stakeholders, and industry associations to navigate regulatory landscapes and unlock product opportunities.
- Partner closely with global Product, Engineering, Design, Legal, and Compliance teams to launch tailored crypto trading and payment products.
- Serve as the senior executive spokesperson and leader representing Coinbase across local media, industry summits, and key stakeholder forums.
- Build, mentor, and scale high-performing local teams within a remote-first, globally matrixed organization.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of senior executive leadership (Country Manager, GM, CEO, COO, or Founder) scaling fintech, trading platform, e-commerce, or consumer tech businesses in India.
- Proven track record of direct engagement with Indian financial regulators and policy stakeholders with tangible commercial/regulatory outcomes.
- Deep operational expertise in launching and scaling products within highly regulated financial environments.
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional alignment across global engineering and product leadership.
- Deep passion for cryptocurrency, Web3 financial inclusion, and decentralized technology.
