The Opportunity & Scope

As an Engineering Manager at Subzero Labs (Remote), you will lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team building core protocol infrastructure, developer tools, and network execution engines for the Rialo ecosystem. You will balance technical leadership, architectural decision-making, and people management to ship high-throughput, fault-tolerant decentralized systems.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of senior protocol, backend, and systems engineers building Subzero Labs' core products.
Drive technical strategy, sprint execution, and architectural reviews for high-throughput distributed network components.
Collaborate closely with product managers, cryptography researchers, and executive leadership to align engineering milestones with market needs.
Establish engineering best practices across code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, and security audits.
Foster an inclusive, high-ownership engineering culture with clear career paths and continuous learning opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years of technical engineering management or lead experience.
Strong background in systems programming (Rust, C/C++, or Go) and distributed consensus systems.
Familiarity with high-performance Web3 infrastructure, Solana Virtual Machine (SVM), EVM, or event-driven execution engines.
Proven track record of delivering production-grade distributed systems or developer-facing platforms.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a track record of leading distributed, remote engineering teams.
